We are currently hiring an Assistant Manager / Fit Consultant

About You

You are a problem solver who enjoys a rewarding and complex work environment. You are highly capable on computers, very organized, and love creating new, useful systems in the workplace.  Being able to juggle tasks is one of your super powers. You understand how to prioritize those tasks and get things done in a timely, efficient way. You are attentive to detail. Skills You Possess

  • Must be tech agile and capable and have working knowledge of Google Workspace, Retail Pro or other POS system, Excel and be capable of self-teaching new programs
  • High quality retail experience and customer service skills
  • Inventory management skills (ordering and receiving)
  • Strong organization skills
  • Self-starter, can-do attitude, “see a need and act on it”
  • Proven track record of following operational systems and creating new ones when needed
  • Three or more years of experience overseeing a team as a supervisor and a key holder 
  • Practical and analytical thinking 
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • Experience teaching and training new team members
  • Team player and the ability to motivate and build team morale
  • Knowledge and interest in social media for small businesses - tik tok, instagram, pinterest, facebook

Preferred Skills

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Experience with advertising and outreach 
  • Experience with Shopify or e-Commerce platforms

General Responsibilities

  • Function as the store manager when the General Manager is unavailable
  • Consulting and fitting guests for shoes, socks, insoles, and other products
  • Create weekly fill-in purchase orders and receive daily shipments
  • Match receiving vouchers to invoices 
  • Plan stock room organization and move product accordingly
  • Be an active member of the team helping with cleaning, showroom displays, events, and more.
  • Assist in marketing and outreach efforts
  • Manage and execute e-commerce and shipping
  • Assist in protecting employees and guests by providing and supervising a safe and clean work environment
  • Addressing customer and staff questions, needs, and concerns
  • Open and close Birkenstock Village
  • Be available as an emergency contact for staff and security
  • Participate in bi-annual shoe buying shows and provide feedback and suggestions for ordering
  • Follow existing systems and identify operational holes and design new systems to address them
  • Support the General Manager in meeting team and sales goals

Work Environment, Scheduling, and Benefits

You will be working in a safe, clean, well-designed environment with a committed, caring, and motivated staff. We work as a team rather than for commission. We offer products that you will feel good about selling.

We pay a competitive starting wage of $27-30/hr based on experience. We offer full-time employees medical benefits, paid vacation, holiday pay, monthly wellness reimbursements, and great product discounts.

We offer training on all our systems and products.

This is a full time position between 32-40 hours per week. Applicants must be able to work on Saturday and/or Sunday.  In your cover letter, please let us know of any days that you are unavailable to work. Once you have been fully trained, you will have a regular schedule you can rely on. 


The position’s essential job functions also include, but are not limited to: light cleaning, lifting up to 30 pounds, kneeling, sitting, climbing ladders, constantly on the move to get new shoes for guests. You must be comfortable with hands-on fitting and helping people in pain.
